I have on question for you, Mr. President.
Last week, a TV program called “Tengo una pregunta para Ud. (I have one question for you)” was on-aired. This program was a program the president, Mr. José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero answered the questions from 100 citizens.
The questions are various.
I do not understand why the president can set down the table for negotiate with assassins (About ETA)
Many immigrants has been working legally in this country and they contributed to the economy of Spain, but why we do not have right to vote?
How you explain one person who killed 25 persons has not been in jail (De Juana Case)?
Among many question, a question appeared to the first page of the national newspaper in the next day was this.
Citizen “(Do you know) how much a couple of coffee is?”
President “Around 80 centimos (=0.80 EURO= US$1.05)”
Citizen “That was my grandfathers’ time”
Actually it costs 1.25 EURO in general.
Of course, you can understand that is typical episode showing the president does not know the feeling, (specially about economic issues) of the citizens.
But in Spain, that kind of story does never end!!
The next day, a photo showing the president having a coffee in the bar of congress appeared. And its title was “A coffee of 70 Centimos”
Now people understand that the bar of congress offers a coffee with the lowest price in the country
